This is the final story from the I Love My Church series.  This is the fifth story in the series.  Will’s story is a great example of what we try to do at NewSpring, create an environment where you’re welcome no matter who you are or where you’ve been, preach the Gospel, and people will meet Jesus.  You can check out more stories like Will’s here.

An Evening with The Civil Wars

This last Saturday evening I had the delight and privilege to work with Ben Coleman to film a Civil Wars show at The Parlor.  If you’re not familiar with them check out some of their work you should…and…uhmm…familiarize yourself with them.

Anyway, I shot on the Canon 5D (what else would I use?) using the Canon F/2.8 70-200mm lens.  Ben shot on the Panasonic HPX-170.  We had a static HPX-500 set up in the back, a Sony EX-1 on sticks, and a roving Canon T2i with a 50mm.

Check out some of the screen caps from my camera after the jump.

Thursday Inspiration #13

Just a couple incredible pieces to share with you this week.

The first is a short called ‘Words’ from directors Will Hoffman and Daniel Mercandante at Everynone. It’s a stunning short film with flawless execution.

The second piece I wanted to share I saw on a couple of blogs this past week.  It’s a moving short film about the people of Haiti and the basic needs that they are striving to meet everyday.  Great use of motion tracking here!

.:: I Love My Church: Joesphine’s Story ::.

This past weekend we rolled out the first of five stories that we will be featuring over the next five weeks during the I Love the 80’s series at NewSpring Church.  This weekend we featured Josephine’s Story.  She thought she had God figured out, but like all most of us…she had it all wrong.

Shot on the Canon 5D MKII with a Canon F/2.8 70-200mm lens.

.::Series Opener: I Love My Church::.

4 days of shooting. 5 hrs of video shot. 15 people interviewed.  Here’s two and a half minutes of why people love their church.  Why do you love yours?
